In May of 2016, for the 5th anniversary of the installation of the memorial wall,
we held our annual memorial ceremony at night.
The Wilmington Police Department constructed a memorial dedicated to New Hanover County Law Enforcement Officers killed in the line of duty. The Memorial is located in front of Wilmington Police Headquarters, 615 Bess Street, Wilmington. It is a special place for citizens, friends and family members to visit, reflect and honor our brave fallen officers.
The Wilmington Police Recreation Association (WPRA) was designated by Chief Ralph Evangelous as the organization to receive donations to build the memorial. Additional Funds are still desired to to set up a maintenance fund for the Memorial. For more information, you can call any member of the board.
